On July 28 Harvardwood and the Harvard Club of Southern California sponsored an Underground 68 screening at Emerson L.A., a film school on Sunset Blvd. in the heart of Hollywood.  The film inspired a lively discussion about then and now.  Random members of the audience received U 68 t-shirts and film posters.  To schedule a screening in your area contact us via the website.

HARVARDWOOD HOSTS UNDERGROUND 68 SCREENING AT THE LAMBS IN NYC

Many thanks to Spence Porter  for organizing the screening at The Lambs, America's oldest theatrical club, founded in 1874.  Co-Producer Richard Thomas introduced the film and led a spirited discussion afterwards along with Stephen Michaels '68, lead guitarist with the UNDERGROUND 68 Band.  In the audience was Stephen "Mo" Hanan '68 who wrote afterwards, "Saw the film last night and it was rapturously received by all... It was a rush to walk into a venue in midtown Manhattan and once again see Peter L and Howard C making music, Chrissie S making art, and Peter G making sense. And the framing device of undergrad Ariel is terrific: education in the finest sense of the word.  Bravo!"

CAST REUNITES FOR GALA SCREENINGS IN VALLEJO AND SANTA ROSA

Richard Thomas lectured on humor in Bob Dylan's songs at the Empress Theater in Vallejo and Bob Dylan and the Art of Songwriting at the Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art and Politics in Santa Rosa, California.  Peter Larson provided piano accompaniment to the receptions following the film in both locations.  Cast members Christina Schlesinger, Peter Gabel, Susannah Wood, Wendy Silk and Ron Goldberg were joined by Cliffie classmates Mary Vogt and Vivi Tallman and a throng of locals for the first west coast screenings of UNDERGROUND 68.  Many thanks to filmmakers Steve and Ann Dunsky for hosting the Vallejo show and to Peter Gabel for hosting at the Arlene Francis Center.  Watch the short video Peter Coonradt slammed together with photos and video from both venues.

Opening of Christina Schlesinger's TOMBOYS show at SPARC in Venice, California

Schlesinger's work explores self portraiture, feminist nudes and lesbian sex.  It fills a void of lesbian imagery in art and revisits a time in the artist's life when she began to feel empowered and brave.
